Radio Trailer
For my radio trailer I used Garage Band to piece together all the small speech from the film that I was going to incorporate into my trailer. I used software such as total video converter to convert my film into a mp3 so I could import this into garage band. As you can see from the image above I changed most of the sound levels in order to reach my desired effect which without would just be clips talking over the top of each other. Once I was satisfied with the result I then exported it to an iTunes mp3 as there was trouble trying to upload it straight to sound cloud and then once exported I uploaded it onto Sound Cloud

Film Poster
For my final film poster I used InDesign to piece it all together as well as using photoshop to edit my images. I used my title which I explained in the last blog post and inserted it onto an image I took with the mask. In the photo I changed the lighting and contrast to enable me to create an edgy look with the mask. I also used a blending option to create soft edges on the mask, this meant that the mask blended nicely with the black background. Underneath the title I created credentials using the font Futura which is the typical font for credentials. I also added in a slogan of 'Trust No One...' which creates a uneasy feel of what the film is about. Below is my final edit of the poster which includes an age certificate and a movement of the slogan to below the film title. I preferred to put the slogan below the title as leaving it in the top right corner as you can see above looks a little out of place whereas below makes it all blend in together.
Film Title
As a group we had many options for potential film titles such as;
The Murder Diaries
Black VHS Murders
Doppelganger
Ouroboros
The Murder Diaries
Black VHS Murders
Doppelganger
Ouroboros
As we couldn't decided which our film would actually be called we received some pitch feedback from a potential audience stating their preference on which title best described our film plot the majority of the votes came back for Ouroboros as it was an unusual title as well as making the film sound a little more creepy which was our intention. Ouroboros is an ancient Greek symbol portraying a dragon eating its own tail this symbolises re-creation in which our main character is doing in each of her killings, recreating the fantasy. To represent this in my title I decided to actually include the symbol as the beginning letter to create a sense of mystery. I did this by finding an image of the symbol on the Internet and restyling the image to fit my poster in photoshop. First of all I changed the colour of the dragon to black and white as well as adding the rest of the words in the font Viner Hand ITC making the font look a little jagged and imperfect. I think that the overall style of the title turned out much better than anticipated as this is not what I had in mind when creating it. Below is my finished title.

Final Film
This is our short film which we have been working on throughout our blog. On here you can see the planning that it has came from in which an idea which wasn't quite like this at first. It has changed quite significantly from out film pitch as what we were expecting to film didn't quite work out the way in which we wanted it to and therefore had to make a plan B which is where this idea came from. We wanted it to have similar ideas to the original but fit it together slightly different by the use of cross cutting between scenes.

Final Scene Planning
For our final scene we needed a piece to fix together exactly why w the killings were occurring and we came up with an idea of her killing the people who thought that her fantasy was disgusting and therefore they in a way brought it upon themselves. We had already planned out how Thea was killed we just needed a reason for why it was emma as well. We had originally wanted Emma to be in the scene itself but on the day of filming it turned out that emma was too ill to make it so we thought that it would be a good idea if it came around by someone mentioning that emma said it was disgusting which would trigger her into going after her.
We wrote a quick brief of the scene onto Notes onto the mac before filming so everyone knew what they were to say and how we wanted it to be like.

Voice Over Script
To include sound out our film we decided to do a voice over as a news reporter in which added some reality to our film. We also chose overlapped different voices to make it seem like it was being reported all over and is at the top of the new at the time. Some of the voice overs include stopping mid-sentence which creates the effect of the numerous amounts of news reports.
NEWS REPORT AS A SOCIAL MEDIA ‘CACOPHONY’

The following news report may cause some
listeners distress. Our local

Yesterday, missing person Thea Jones’ body

Inspectors have commented on the brutality
of the murder and investigations are on-going with support from the local area. The police have recruited locals in their
search but so far very little evidence appears to have been left behind. The pressure is mounting online as tempers
flare and this monstrous case gains momentum, drawing attention from the
international community.
MALE VOICE (overlapping)
Hello and welcome to Crime watch. The police have called for anyone with any
possible leads on the masked murder case to contact them on ‘999’ as soon as possible. They urge against the use of Twitter that
they claim has already led to false leads….
FEMALE VOICE (interview)
Inspector, what sort of person are we
dealing with here?
MALE VOICE (interview)
This is a particularly secretive individual
who is likely to be leading a double life, almost certainly an introverted
character with an obsession surrounding occult magic. They may be operating alone but we’re
currently investigating several websites that exhibit an extreme cult-like
ideology.
FEMALE VOICE (interview)
Yes, it does seem that such behaviour often
flourishes online but are there any indications that would lead to a profile?
MALE VOICE (interview)
We do know that all of the victims have
been young girls, all of which would have posed little physical threat. So from
this and our other findings, we believe that the individual involved is likely
to be of a fairly small build. Gender is
uncertain as yet but we believe most likely female, around 5ft 6 inches tall
and quite young, aged between 18 to 25.

FEMALE VOICE (overlapping)
We can now reveal further evidence in the

Thank you, Inspector. Please help us to stop this person before
another defenceless victim is taken from us...

Editing on Final Cut Pro
To edit our film we used Final Cut Pro which at first showed impossible as we had no idea on how to use the software but once we knew the basics to cut and piece our film together we learnt that experimenting with the software would give us endless possibilities to create different effects for our film. We also used research how to change specific effects in which we wanted to use to create a horror feeling to our film to do this we ended up lowering the saturation of the colours to create a dull, uneasy feeling. Along with this we also lowered the brightness to create a darker scene allowing the audience to only see specific items which complimented the saturation.
Another problem with Final Cut Pro was when it came to piecing all the clips together as you can see from the image above you had to constantly render the selections otherwise the film would not play straight through. This occurred every time we wanted to change lighting, add effects and even cut cutting the clips together.
Hanging Scene Safety
For one of our scenes we wanted to create a hanging scene in which we were to hang one of our actors but safely of course. To do this we needed a desolated place in the woods where it wasn't near a path as this would seem the most idealistic also as we were filming in a public woods we didn't want to alarm the passers by with our scene. We did have a few dog walkers asking what we were doing in which we explained exactly what we were filming for and how we were going to do it without actually hurting anyone.
As you can see here below we had one string tied tightly around the tree making it look like it was wrapped around the actors neck. We then had another rope loosely wrapped around their neck making it look tighter than it actually was by bulking it up. So when the actor were to stand in front of the hanging rope it would look like she was dangling from the tree when in fact she was stood on a chair just in front.
I think that by doing it this way was the safest but real looking way to achieve what we were aiming for and overall I believe it was quite successful.
Crime Scene Board
We decided that within our film we wanted to include a crime scene board to add an extra creative element which helps define our main character. This shows the character as being an organised killer whilst also suggesting that she isn't going to stop anytime soon as it seems like the memories are being relived whenever she sees the crime scenes. This also allows our film to end on a cliff hanger as no one knows whether she is going to carry on with the killings.
